TBA Our JUNE Schooling Show
It was a warm sunny day on Saturday, June 6 for the Mendocino Chapter of the California Dressage Society's Schooling Horseshow at Whitewater Hanoverians in Inglenook. Fourteen dressage tests and three classes were ridden by six well turned out riders and their beautifully groomed horses as spectators cheered from the sidelines. Cherry Baumann, a professional judge from Petaluma judged the events and gave helpful suggestions to riders. In a dressage test, horse and rider must complete a specific pattern at walk, trot and canter. The pair must demonstrate precision and connection while the horse responds to the rider's very subtle cues . Riders and their horses progress in their skills over the years and ride tests with greater degrees of difficulty. Dressage has been around since the fourth century B.C., and is now an Olympic sport.
Mendo CDS Member, Lily Forest will be attending the CDS amateur Dressage clinic
